Roger Vines
Roger Vines is a singer/songwriter from Rockford, Alabama and serves as Co-coordinator for the Sylacauga, AL Chapter of the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI). Roger has released his first CD titled “Kudzu Kountry” which includes 15 of his songs. Country Music News magazine reviewed the CD and commented that “Roger has a kind of outlaw country Jimmy Buffet sound. And guess what, it sounds great. It’s really an evolutionary pattern of country music, but the end project is a super good ‘listening’ album.”
The Kudzu Kountry songs include a variety of topics from a homeless soldier, a tribute to linemen, a rockin country song, to a bluegrass feeling song, but Roger is mostly known for his songs with a twist of humor. Songs like Walmart Woman, and Double Wide Wife. For 30 years he worked as a County Agricultural Agent in rural Coosa County, Alabama and now he is retired and works on his small timber farm and enjoys songwriting, chainsaw carving, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He is married and has two daughters, one in Ohio and one in Denver as described in his song “Diamonds That Fly”. Roger designed the winning T shirt design for the 2016 SMSWF and a poster for the 2018 Festival. He has performed at local festivals, restaurants, and local TV and Radio programs.
You can find his songs on You Tube, Reverbnation, and other sites by searching “Kudzu Kountry”.
