Nelson Moore
Twenty- seven years of marriage, six children, and thirty some years of day jobs, that include the last, being, ten years of over the road truck driving. I am able to bring my life experience to my song writing. While driving over the road I made up my mind to pursue what I had always loved and had put second to my wife and family, and that was my song writing. I quit driving truck and have been attending VolState Community College working on a degree in Music and Songwriting. I have been blessed and honored to have instructors like Clay Mills, Lynn Peterson, Ben Graves, and to attend a web-nar with Marty Dodson. Also I must mention the talented fellow students I get to meet and become friends with. I am new to the song writing scene so it is an extreme honor to get to share some of my songs at SMSWF and to hear and meet other song writers. I am grateful to Cynthia Reeves for this opportunity. My musical roots are old country Hank, Waylon, Willie, Johnny, to name a few. I also have always liked Elvis, and Elton John. I believe in love and I know heartache. My wife and I have seen good times and bad. Each one of my children are different and I have learned from each one and have songs that can be directly related to something they have taught me. I have a sense of humor that I sometimes bring to my songs. And often the sad things in life will be there seeing the only way I can deal with anything is to write a song about it. I am so looking forward to my next thirty-some years of songwriting!
