Marc Oriet
Marc is a singer/songwriter from the great Pacific Northwest. He grew up in a small town playing sports, hunting, and fishing. Marc picked up his first guitar and began picking along to songs in the fifth grade but didn’t truly get the hang of it until high school. Marc taught himself how to play the guitar and after high school, continued playing while attending college at Oregon State University. Marc had gotten his Emergency Medical Technician License while in high school and decided to quit college and move to Eastern Oregon where he worked as a Firefighter. It was during this stage in his life he began to really focus on writing music and doing it as more than just a party trick around a bonfire with friends. After a year as a firefighter, Marc moved back home to the Portland area where he enrolled in school again to become a Paramedic in 2010. Marc continued to play and write music throughout his schooling and after graduating, he worked as a Paramedic for MetroWest Ambulance. In 2013, after playing at various bars and music venues throughout the portland area, Marc decided to uproot and give music the chance it deserved. with his family and friends support, Marc moved to Nashville where he now currently resides and is continuing to work as a Paramedic while pursuing a career in music. Marc plays at various writer’s nights throughout the city and has even sat in with a few bands during shows on the Famous “Broadway.” Also, for some reason, Marc enjoys talking about himself in the third person.
