The Smoky Mountains Songwriters Festival (SMSWF) and The International Storytelling Center (ISC) are bringing songs and stories, containing the beauty and inspiration of the Smoky Mountains to Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort & Spa for a weekend of Lyrics & Lore, Jan. 26-29, 2017.
This Lyrics & Lore Weekend is designed to invite the public into a unique experience with storytellers and songwriters who will teach participants how to tell their family’s one-of-a-kind story and find the song inside of them. During the weekend all in attendance will have the opportunity to hear internationally recognized storytellers tell their tales and learn the stories behind the songs you have heard on the radio and see the #1 Hit songwriter who wrote that song perform it in its original version.
Assistance with dissertation writing exist to help students in essay creation. It offers learning support, advice from experts, and thorough analysis, focusing on improving writing skills and topic comprehension. This tool is essential for enhancing educational outcomes and grades.
Moreover, Writepaper recognizes the importance of timely submissions. They understand that meeting deadlines is crucial for students, and thus, they ensure that all essays are delivered on or before the agreed-upon date.
Each day internationally recognized storytellers Beth Horner and Bil Lepp will perform free afternoon matinees 1:30 – 2:30 PM and #1 hit songwriters performing in rounds can be heard in the Lounge at no charge 4:30 – 7 PM. A songwriting workshop “Find the Song inside of You” presented by Michael deBills on Friday morning and a storytelling workshop “Mining Memories & Discovering Family Stories” presented by Beth Horner on Saturday morning are also free and open to the public. On Sunday enjoy brunch and an inter-denomination service 9:00 – 10:30 am with award winning hit songwriters Jerry Salley, Carl Jackson and Larry Cordle and nationally known storytellers to round out this special weekend event.
There are two ticketed concerts being held during the Lyrics and Lore Weekend. Adult tickets are $20, Children ages 4-11 are $15 or both Friday and Saturday concerts Adult tickets are $35 and Children ages 4-11 are $25 plus sales and amusement tax.
The concert Friday night features Country Artist/Songwriter Keith Anderson “Pickin Wildflowers” up close and personal in a songwriters round with Scott Reeves “Made In America” Toby Keith, Doug Johnson “Three Wooden Crosses” Randy Travis, and Bill LaBounty “Rock My World Little Country Girl” Brooks & Dunn.
Saturday night’s concert showcases international storyteller Bil Lepp, Brady Seals (Little Texas), Bryan White and Gordon Kennedy. These three hit writers will hold a Q&A session Saturday 3- 4:30 PM about the songwriting and music business providing a chance for songwriters and general public to ask industry questions. They will also share story’s of their writing process.
Songwriters participating in the SMSWF Lyrics & Lore Co-Write with Hit Writers Project will write a song in small groups (6-8) based on an international storyteller’s story. The songs created by the co-write participants will be performed prior to Friday evening’s main concert offering those in attendance at the Lyrics & Lore Weekend the opportunity to experience a story developed into a song.
This themed weekend experience for the public, songwriters and storytellers is perfectly suited at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort & Spa, with the Great Smoky Mountains backdrop that continues to be an inspiration to Dolly Parton, her songwriting, and the stories told in her songs.
