Knoxville Songwriters Association
The Knoxville Songwriters Association has been affiliated with the Smoky Mountains Songwriters Festival since its first festival in 2012.We are proud to showcase this wonderful songwriters association which can proudly say Kim Williams and Garth Brooks were a part of the KSA!
The Knoxville Songwriters Association (KSA), founded by Sara Williams in 1983, has established a long-standing history helping songwriters develop their musical talents and understanding of the music business. While KSA’s membership includes songwriters from across East Tennessee, several members have achieved commercial success, most notably the late Kim Williams, who in 2012 was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in Nashville.
KSA members have a long history of community service, volunteering their time and talents to perform for audiences such as the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard; events at Historic Ramsey House and Marble Springs State Historic Site; community festivals and benefit concerts; and school and senior citizens groups.
KSA meetings are held on Tuesdays at Fountain City Library (Jam 4:30-6pm; Meeting 6 to 8 pm) except during elections, holidays, or when the Library needs the meeting room for another purpose. Annual membership is $30. Young Writer Membership (under 21 years) is available for $15. Visitors are welcome for two free visits to jam, have their songs critiqued, and interact with the Knoxville Songwriters Association membership.
The KSA will be at Three Jimmy’s Eatery Sat. August 19th 4-6 PM during the 2017 SMSWF.
