Frankie Tate
Hey! I’m Frankie Tate. I am a Singer/Songwriter, Lead and Acoustic guitar player. I have been creating music since ’71. I have composed over 50 songs and am still creative. My sound has been compared to a Southern Grand Funk Railroad. However, I believe my music transcends genres, classifications and age. My music is, but not limited to, songs that range from Country, Rock, Southern Rock, Blues, Bluegrass, Rock-a-Billy and Modern Folk.
I helped form the band Luce Meet in 1977 in Rockingham, NC. We played around North and South Carolina and Georgia. We played at a protest at the Lincoln Memorial in ’78 with about 29,000 people. I formed the band Alcazar in 1983. My original music was played by both bands. I have also been a member of several bands prior to 1977.
Music has always been the driving force in my life. I started teaching myself to play guitar when I was 6 years old. I learned to play other instruments as I grew up and eventually started writing my own lyrics and pairing them with my music in my teens. My favorite influences are the Guess Who, Jackson Browne, Aerosmith, Grand Funk Railroad and the Allman Brothers.
I will be 60 years old this year. I love fishing, boating and golfing. But my first love is Music. Especially, playing LEAD GUITAR! I love being an entertainer, but to share my music with the world has always been my dream.
