Lyrics & Lore Co-write w/Hit Writers Project

The SMSWF has been asked to participate in a weekend with the International Storytelling Center and Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort in Pigeon Forge, TN.  Jan. 26-29, 2017 in an event called “Lyrics & Lore” a Weekend with Songwriters and Storytellers.

The Lyrics & Lore Weekend offers the co-write with hit writers project below plus 3 different workshops you can attend at no additional cost during the weekend.  12 of the songwriters participating in the co-write will have an opportunity  to perform with a Hit Writer in a 30 minute round.  If you want to be considered to perform with a Hit Writer please give us your web-site or internet presence of you performing your song(s).

Songs came from stories and ballads brought to America by our Irish, Scottish, and English ancestors who lived in the Appalachain Mountain Range which includes the Great Smoky Mountains, the SMSWF is excited to host a SMSWF Co-Write w/Hit Writers Project with the International Storytelling Center.  Songwriters who register for the SMSWF Lyrics & Lore Co-Write Project will write a song about the story a international storyteller will tell them. The songs created in these co-write groups will be performed on Jan 27th prior to the Friday night Concert so the public participating can see how a story becomes a song.

If you participate in this co-write, your lodging per night at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort is only $79 plus tax.  When you register for the SMSWF Lyrics & Lore Co-write, you will receive the code for this special lodging discount.  You will also receive a free ticket to Friday night’s concert.

Registration Fee:  $135

Thursday, Jan. 26th

Meet & Greet Reception 7- 7:30 PM

7:30 PM  National storyteller tells the story.

8 PM Co-write Begins ( Group can decide if they want to finish the song Thursday night or Friday morning.  One or two in the group need to be able to perform the song Friday night.
